Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for electrical/electronic support for external and internal customers of Jotto Desk product lines. The position is a backup to and assists Fleet Support Facilitator and Customer Service Representatives.

Essential Functions

  • Provides technical support on wiring, installation, and troubleshooting to customers by phone and in person when needed.
  • Must be an active team participant who can take direction from management and work with other departments.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and ensuring quality control of docking stations, weapon racks, Jotto IR Alarm, and other electronic components developed.
  • Responsible for customer repairs and Root Cause Failure Analysis update log.
  • Knowledgeable in following electrical diagrams and electronic schematics.
  • Must know of or have experience working with mechanical drawings.
  • Must know the safety risks of wiring electronic products and shop and workplace safety procedures.
  • Must know how to properly use test equipment (volt-ohmmeter, ammeters, etc.)
  • Ability to solder and de-solder to the component level for component-level repair.
  • Experience and proficiency in performing electrical wiring and assembly installation.
  • Back up to Fleet Support Facilitator
  • Required to manage vehicle installation and vehicle maintenance projects.
  • Able to keep workspace organized and clean daily.
  • Responsible for assisting in detailing and service management of company vehicles.
  • Must have and maintain an excellent driving record.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • GED or High School Diploma
    • Technical or Celle Industrial Maintenance diploma or certifications preferred.
    • 1+ vehicle electrical work experience preferred.
    • Formal training with electronics assembly preferred.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration from the tools and noise from the pneumatic tools—forklift traffic. The heat level is high in the summer months. Personal Protective Equipment is required in some positions, such as safety glasses and gloves. Hearing protection is provided but not required.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must frequently use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee must walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear.
    The employee must regularly lift, push, pull, and grip. Must pass a physical fitness for duty test that assesses the ability to lift varying weights essential to job function. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 to 3:30. Occasionally, overtime is required, and the employee must be able to work earlier than scheduled, later than scheduled, and on Saturdays.
